It is the beginning of a new year. 2025 is here. The trees and flowers in the Atlanta area are dormant and bare. Lawns are mostly brown. Spring will be here before we know it. At The Venue at Murphy Lane in Newnan, GA we start to see signs of plant life in February with the arrival of the yellow blooms of Daffodils and Yellow Bells. February is just one month away. Is it too late to plan your Atlanta Spring wedding at an outdoor wedding venue? It is not- that is, if you don’t mind a challenge!
Time to Move!
We can do this! The first thing we recommend always is to choose a wedding venue and a date for your wedding. If you hope to have an Atlanta Spring wedding you must move quickly to secure your wedding venue on a date that is still available. Once that is done you will need to find available caterers, florists, photographers, a DJ or band and all the other vendors that meet your needs and are still available. You may not be able to get your first choice because many vendors are booked well in advance. Spring weddings in the Atlanta area are very popular and some vendors are not available to take on another event. Fortunately, there are a lot of wedding-related vendors in the Atlanta area so you should, with the help of a wedding venue and a wedding planner, be able to find what you need.
Spring Weather in Georgia
Spring arrives, technically, on March 20, 2025. If you live in Georgia you probably know that you can have “Spring weather” in December or January. There are no guarantees. You might even have “Spring weather” in the Spring! You must have a back-up plan for anything the weather throws at you. What if it is sunny, dry and warm? It might be raining sideways. Maybe it has rained for days but now the sun is out. Outdoor wedding venues in the Atlanta area must have a solid alternative for your ceremony and reception if the beautiful Spring weather you hope for decides to take a Spring Break! Murphy Lane has various ceremony options for any bride planning an Atlanta Spring Wedding.
Spring Weddings in Georgia
Spring gives us some of the most beautiful times Georgia has to offer. The blooms start to peek out of dormancy in February. Trees start to bud in March. Grass starts to green up in March and April. The azalea and dogwood blooms burst forth in early April. The vibrant, fresh colors of nature begin to appear. Temperatures start to warm but the dog days of late summer seem far away. It can be the most romantic time of year for an Atlanta wedding.
The outdoor wedding venue you choose should have several ceremony site options. That will give you the flexibility to choose a lovely ceremony site that is suitable on your wedding day. There absolutely must be an indoor option in case of rain. We like to say, “It’s not going to rain on your wedding day, but just in case it does….” We always have a complete plan for a first, second and even third choice. You will have a sense of peace knowing that there is a plan in place on your wedding day for whatever Nature throws your way.
Action Steps
You must move quickly to have a wedding less than 6 months away but it can be done! However, you need help. Find a wedding venue. Set the date. Use the expertise of the wedding venue owners and planners to help you prioritize your tasks and make a plan. Assemble your vendor team. Select your bridal party. Get a dress! Send out a “Save the Date” or go right to the Wedding Invitations. “Action Steps” might be an understatement. You’ve got to “Move it! Move it! Move it!”
