There are hundreds of wedding venues in the Atlanta area. Engaged couples have the luxury of numerous options. There are so many choices! When you begin your venue search you must somehow filter out the venues you don’t want to waste time on. What is important to you will help you decide what filters to apply. Location, availability, venue capacity, parking, bridal lounge amenities, reception area building and venue prices are important qualities to consider. Let’s focus on one of these qualifiers that virtually all couples consider- Atlanta wedding venue prices.

Atlanta wedding venue prices and what they include vary greatly. You must find a way to make a valid comparison. You can research the venue website to get an idea of what their price is and what it includes. We recommend a phone conversation with the venue owners as well. That will give you a direct connection and straight-forward answers. After your online research and a phone call with the wedding venue it might be time to schedule a visit. That will give you a chance to see firsthand exactly what you get for your money.

Wedding Venue Property

What property is included is critical to your understanding of exactly what you get when you book a venue. Most venues include at least one ceremony site but many offer several. Also, the price normally includes a space for a Cocktail Hour after the ceremony and a place for the reception. The reception includes dinner and dancing. Parking space is an issue that needs your attention. Also, a shuttle for guests to and from parking is a valuable item. Does the venue offer this? Is there a clear description of what property is available to you and your guests at the wedding venue you are considering?

Access to the Wedding Venue

Not only should you get a clear picture of what property is included you should also have a complete understanding of when you can use the property. Some venues have more than one event per weekend and may have limits regarding your access to the venue property. How early can you get in to start hair and makeup services? When must you vacate the bridal lounge? Do you have exclusive use of the venue property during your wedding weekend? You wouldn’t want a venue tour going through the bridal lounge while you and your bridesmaids are having hair and makeup done, would you?

Having a rehearsal the day before your wedding is common. It’s important that the key players in your wedding have a chance to get familiar with the setting and see how to get to your venue. It’s also possible that you can have your rehearsal dinner at the wedding venue you have chosen.

At Murphy Lane, we only host one event per weekend. You can have access to the venue property starting the day before your wedding for setting things up in the bridal lounge and reception area. You can have your rehearsal the day before at the ceremony site you have chosen. (We normally try to start the rehearsal the same time as your ceremony the next day.) And, if you’d like, we can make arrangements to host your rehearsal dinner here. We have a special package for that. On your wedding day you can start in the bridal lounge as early as you need. There is plenty of space in the bridal lounge where you can keep your things until the end of the party. Oh, and you won’t see anyone but your guests at our venue during your time here. No venue tours on your wedding day at Murphy Lane!

What is Included in the Wedding Venue Price?

Covered and enclosed patio with large glass windows is the perfect setting for an indoor wedding ceremony or for a formal dining experience with china, crystal, gold flatware and fabulous floral centerpieces at a wedding reception located at a wedding venue in Newnan, GA just 45 minutes away from Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport

Many couples figure that the wedding venue price includes tables and chairs, having chairs set up for the ceremony, having tables and chairs set up for the dinner and reception, wedding venue decor, restrooms, dressing areas for members of the bridal party and venue staff to take care of the property and guest shuttles. Be sure to cover these points with any wedding venue you consider. You might be surprised to find out that some of these items are NOT included. Or, the venue may provide these services for additional fees.

No one likes hidden fees. No one likes surprises when it comes to prices. Any wedding venue should be willing to clearly give you a “bottom line” price and what it includes. If there are additional fees for things you need for your wedding ceremony and reception be sure to get a complete list of these items and the cost. Are taxes and fees included in the price? Some venues may have a lower “venue price” but require you to spend a certain amount on food and bar services. Make sure you ask questions until you get a complete understanding of the wedding venue prices.

What is Not Included?

As you start a search for a wedding venue it is hard to know what to ask. We get questions that remind us of this often. “Does your price include food?” and “Are bar prices included in the venue fee?” have been asked many times. It’s okay! If you don’t ask how will you ever find out? Most venues have some sort of handout or list of things that are included in the venue price. Your questions will help you understand those handouts and lists even better. Don’t forget the old adage to “get it in writing” once you choose a wedding venue and are preparing to sign a contract. That makes it clear for everyone.

At The Venue at Murphy Lane in Newnan, GA, we give couples a copy of our “Wedding Package” when they tour with us. We clearly define what comes with the venue price and what does not. We are happy to answer text or phone call questions at any time about this topic. Every wedding venue seems to price differently and we know it’s important for you to get an accurate understanding of wedding venue prices.
